A novelty is the institute of so-called. authorized representative. If the manufacturer has no registered office or place of business in the territory of the Slovak Republic, he shall appoint an authorized representative to perform his duties.
An authorized representative is a legal or natural person – an entrepreneur with a registered office or place of business in the Slovak Republic, who is legally responsible for fulfilling all obligations of the manufacturer of a reserved product under the Waste Act while acting in his own name.
The authorization shall be granted in writing for a period of at least 1 year.
The obligation of the manufacturer of the reserved product to notify the Ministry of the Plenipotentiary is until 30 June of the current year.
The manufacturer of a reserved product that does not have its registered office or place of business in the Slovak Republic and which, as of 1 January, has placed a reserved product on the market under the current legislation, is obliged to appoint an authorized representative by 30 June and fulfill the registration obligation through this agent.
