Consumer packaging is packaging intended for the immediate protection of goods or a group of goods, which at the point of purchase forms a product unit for the end user or consumer.
Group packaging is packaging intended to form a group of a certain number of goods at the point of purchase, regardless of whether it is sold to the end user or consumer, or serves as a means of adding goods to the offer during the sale; can be removed from the goods without violating its properties.
Transport packaging is packaging designed to facilitate the handling and transport of a certain amount of goods units or group packs in order to prevent physical damage during handling and transport; the transport package is not a road container, a railway container, a shipping container or an air container.
Reusable packaging is packaging designed to make at least two trips or circuits during its lifetime, which is repeatedly filled or reused for the same purpose for which it was intended; such packaging will become packaging waste if it is no longer reused at the time of its disposal.
a) uses packaging for packing goods or fills goods in packaging and markets these goods under its trademark,
b) is the person for whom the goods are packed or filled and under whose trademark the goods are marketed,
c) markets goods in packaging in a different way than under letters a) and b), or transports or has goods in packaging transported across the state border of the Slovak Republic and markets or distributes them in the Slovak Republic
d) as a distributor carries out paid or free handover of packaging to the end user for immediate packaging of the goods, (e.g. plastic bags, paper bags, plastic bags, …)
e)as a distributor uses packaging for wrapping of distributed goods or its parts or filling with distributed goods (e.g. plastic cups, drinking glasses drinks, bags, paper, thermal bags, … ),
f)puts packaging on the market, with the exception of a person who supplies unused empty packaging to persons specified in letter a), b) c), d) or e) or a person who packs or fills goods for a person according to
letter b).
plastic products consisting of PET material except raw materials, preforms and fibers intended for industrial use and plastic products consisting of PE, PP, PS, PVC or PA except raw materials, fibers and products intended for industrial use,
Ppaper and cardboard, imported paper and cardboard products including printing products except: 1. hygienic and sanitary paper, 2. paper products used for hygienic and sanitary purposes, 3. cigarette paper, 4. carbon copy paper, 5. filter paper, 6. paper and cardboard for the production of tarred or asphalt paper, 7. valuables, 8. books (books from 1.1.2018 definitive).

Makes or has it made non-packaged product and puts it on the market in the Slovak Republic,
Transports or has transported to the territory of the Slovak Republic an unpackaged product from another member state and puts it on the market in the Slovak Republic
Imports or has imported to the territory of the Slovak Republic from a non-member state an unpackaged product and puts it on the market in the Slovak Republic.
a) manufacturer of non-packaged products is in accordance with § 27 par. 4 obliged to ensure:
collection, transportation, recovery, recycling and disposal of waste in non-packaged products, which he has put on the market and are part of the separately collected components of municipal waste in full, at least in the amount for the purpose of collection, established in Annex No. 3.
Informing end users about how to ensure the collection of waste from non-packaged products.
If the manufacturer of non-packaged products cannot prove that the non-packaged products put on the market will not form part of municipal waste after their consumption, these wastes are considered part of municipal waste.
The manufacturer of the non-packaged product fulfills the reserved obligations established by this law exclusively collectively on the basis of a contract concluded with OZV for packaging ensuring a system of joint management of packaging waste.
Manufacturers who market or distribute up to 100 kg of non-packaged products per year partially fulfill the reserved obligations (have no obligation to participate in financing the system, administrative obligations remain in full).
