Organization of producer responsibility for packaging (OZV)
The person who introduced them to the Slovak market is responsible for packaged and non-packaged products, which after their consumption have the potential to end up as municipal waste. This principle is called extended producer responsibility.
The producer responsibility organization, in accordance with the granted authorization, ensures, on the basis of the contract on the fulfillment of reserved obligations, the fulfillment of these obligations on behalf of the represented producers of the reserved product. The purpose of a producer responsibility organization is not to make a profit.
The manufacturer of the reserved product is according to § 30 par. 1 obliged to deliver to the Ministry, before placing the reserved product on the market of the Slovak Republic, a written request for registration in the Register of Producers of the reserved product and at the same time attach a declaration by the manufacturer that he will fulfill the reserved obligations individually or attach a confirmation according to paragraph 3.
The manufacturer of the reserved product means the manufacturer of electrical equipment (§ 32), manufacturer of batteries and accumulators (§ 42), packaging manufacturer (§ 52), vehicle manufacturer (§ 60), tire manufacturer (§ 69), producer of non-packaged product (§ 73).
